We started off the day as anyone should in Paris with a cafe au lait and croissant by the Seine. We explored some of the neighboring areas including Place de la Bastille, and Les Halles. We had morning tickets for the Museé d'Orsay and enjoyed lunch nearby after we wandered the massive galleries. There is no way you can see all the art there is in Paris. It has to take a lifetime. Following lunch, we then headed up to Montmartre where we climbed up Sacre Cœur to take in the expansive view of the city. We sorta wandered back to Le Marais on foot enjoying all the sights, sounds and smells of Paris.

Today we started at the Louvre and continued along the grand axis of the Champs-Élysées. Our lunch was at a cute French bistro where we could people watch and enjoy a few St. Germain cocktails. We were also able to see a number of the large monuments, though visiting them was not something we were really interested in (so. many. tourists.).

Our day started with an extensive French cooking class that included a visit to a local market to gather supplies for our meal. It was a three-course progressive sorta thing starting with a cauliflower puree with truffle oil, then a chicken cutlet with mashed potatoes and a red wine reduction sauce, finished with a poached pear and creme anglaise.

Feeling very full afterwards, we wandered around the Latin Quarter and popped into the Pantheon and Luxembourg Gardens.

The best thing about Paris is that you can easily walk ten miles without even noticing it. We wandered through the city back to our Airbnb and stopped along the way at anything that called us...so it took some time.
